(Judy Small)
Riding on the ferry on a Sunday morning
Sailing off to Manly for a day of fun
Gazing at the sky and seeing seagulls soaring
Me and Cora sitting in the morning sun
There's lots of things in Sydney that I really like to do
Like lying on the beach all day or going to the zoo
Or visiting my lovely friends or having them to tea
But sometimes there's nowhere on this earth I'd rather be
Than
At Manly they have ice-cream, the very best in town
And you can eat it while you watch the people strolling up and down
And sometimes they have music playing in the open air
And stalls along the promenade with goodies rich and rare
And when the sun is brightly shining and the sea's a brilliant blue
We swim a while then sit a while and take in all the view
There's people in the water and there's people on the shore
There's people looking sun-tanned and people looking sore
When we go
And when the day is over and the light's begun to fail
We hop aboard the ferry and our homeward way we sail
We're tired and we're sunburned and the salt's still on our skin
And one day very soon we hope to do it all again
We'll go
